Nikki Brown-Kersey has been training dogs for 15 years. She has owned and operated Premier K-9 since its formation in 2003 in Grand Ledge. Nikki holds 2 master's degrees from Michigan State University in Counseling and School Psychology and has nearly completed her PhD with an emphasis on behavior modification. Her education and years of experience training pet dogs as well as training and breeding police dogs, make her an expert in the field of dog training and behavior modification. Her specialty is in rehabilitating aggressive dogs and training their families so they can be successful in their forever homes.

Nikki has titled many to dogs to high levels in various sports such as agility, AKC and UKC obedience, K9 Pro Sports, and Protection Sports Association. She has also competed in conformation, Schutzhund, Canine Good citizen and Therapy Dogs International trials. Nikki was the first female certified decoy in Protection Sports Association and in K9 Pro Sports. She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen certified evaluator. Nikki is also the director and co-founder of Great Lakes Assistance Dogs, Inc , which is a 501 (c) 3 non profit that certifies service dogs for adults and children with various disabilities.
